Liam Harrison is aware that his time at Muay Thai's highest level is coming to an end, but it doesn't mean he'll head into the sunset without one blaze of glory. The British legend is set to return to the ONE Championship ring in September, in what he envisions as the fitting swansong to his extraordinary career.

In an interview with the ADHD Untangled Podcast, Harrison said he's slowly coming into terms with the reality of his inevitable retirement.

He said:

"I am getting on in fighter terms. I am at the tail end of my career but I also know I've just got a little bit left, so I don't think I am going to retire just yet. So I had my last ever fight in England last month, which I won."

Liam Harrison, who's been fighting professionally since the turn of the millennium, initially retired from the highest level of Muay Thai when he suffered a brutal second-round technical knockout against fellow legend Seksan at ONE 168: Denver.

'Hitman', however, was back in action six months later when he beat Spain's Isaac Araya for the WBC Muay Thai Diamond Belt at Hitman Fight League in Manchester.

Harrison then recently revealed on Instagram that he'll be back in ONE Championship's four-ounce Muay Thai gloves in September for his highly anticipated return to the promotion.

He said in an interview with ONE Championship:

"Muay Thai has never been high-paying until recently, so if I can get them over to Thailand and on the big shows where they’re treated like superstars and I can still be part of that, that’s a great buzz for me – especially if they’re guys from my gym."
