UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling fired shots at an internet troll pertaining to his recent win against T.J. Dillashaw.

Sterling defended his bantamweight title for the second time at the co-main event of UFC 280. 'Funk Master' secured a controversial second-round knockout over T.J. Dillashaw to retain his title.

Dillashaw suffered a dislocated shoulder early into the fight, which impacted his performance greatly. It was later disclosed that 'Lieutenant Dan' had a pre-existing shoulder injury. After the match, many disregarded Sterling's fighting prowess and claimed that his win over Dillashaw was a stroke of luck.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the bantamweight champ took a jibe at one such troll who claimed that 'Funk Master' was "struggling" against 'Lieutenant Dan' despite Dillashaw suffering a shoulder injury during the bout.

The Twitter user also referred to Islam Makhachev's dominant victory over Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC 280:

"@funkmasterMMA You were struggling to beat a 37-year-old with one arm while Islam [Makhachev] was dominating a divisional great."

Replying to the tweet, Aljamain Sterling wrote:

"Imagine calling a 10-5 round 'struggling' 🤣"

T.J. Dillashaw reveals why he did not pull out of the fight against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 280

During his post-fight octagon interview, T.J. Dillashaw stated that his shoulder had popped out of the socket over 20 times during training camp. This left MMA fans baffled as to why the fighter still took the fight. Dillashaw had stated:

"I gotta apologize to the weight class, I kind of held it up. Completely blew my shoulder out at the end of April. Probably dislocated a good 20 times throughout training camp."

In a recent interview with ESPN's Brett Okamoto, the former bantamweight champion addressed the issue and revealed what led to him fighting for a title with an injured shoulder:

"Because it was affecting me more in the striking aspect, it was something I was going to be able to deal with. I'm fighting Sterling, he's not a big threat on his feet. I felt it was best-case scenario for who I was going to fight. If I was fighting Petr Yan, I might have second-guessed going in there with a guy who was deadly, looking for that knockout."
