“It’s so surreal” - British icon Liam Harrison recalls the incredible atmosphere of his comeback fight in the United Kingdom

It’s only been two years since Liam Harrison launched Hitman Fight League. Now it’s filling venues, landing TV deals, and sending fighters to ONE.

Just in one event, the promotion delivered a packed arena, a live Road to ONE tournament final, and Harrison himself coming out of retirement for one more fight on home soil.

“We had 3,500 people in attendance, and we could’ve had more. It’s still surreal to me. I don’t look at myself in that light, so I still find it amazing that others do," Harrison told ONE Championship.

That night wasn’t just about his return. It was a moment for the UK Muay Thai scene to show just how far it’s come.

“To have that, it’s so surreal. It’s humbling, too. The fact that so many turned out for my last fight in the UK, that moment looking out to the crowd with live with me forever.”

And while Harrison isn’t one to brag, objectively, he knows what it took to make that happen.

"But saying that, I don’t think there’s any other fighter in the UK or in the history of UK Muay Thai who could do it other than me right now.

For all the success Liam Harrison has seen - packed arenas, global fans, a decorated career - he’s never sugarcoated what this sport demands. Behind every high is a hard-earned low, and every fighter has to ride both.

"It will teach you so many lessons, not only about the sport itself, but about pride, passion, discipline, honesty, courage, fear, and ego. If you ever get out of check with any of these traits, you will be brought back down to earth with a bang."

And still, for Liam Harrison, it’s all worth it. That rush of winning, of pushing past your limits - that’s the real addiction.
