US College Football Season Week 7 Highlights

Four of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams have bagged top positions in the recent Amway Coaches Poll even though two are quite sure to lose in the big college football weekend.

No. 9 Alabama traveling to No. 10 Texas A&M and No. 5 LSU hosting No. 11 Florida are the biggest highlight matchups for this weekend.

As part of The Amway Coaches Poll, head coaches at all top schools with Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) cast their ballot. The organization chooses the panel at random from a vast pool of coaches who have expressed a willingness to participate to the American Football Coaches Association.

Each participating coach compiles a list of Top 25. The first place holds 25 points and the last place equates with just one point.

No. 12 Michigan and No. 7 Michigan State's battle on the football field in Ann Arbor on 3:30 pm this Saturday is going to have a large impact on the Big Ten's East division title race. It is likely also going to be impactful on the entire College Football Playoff contention.

According to MLive's Nick Baumgardner, it is the Wolverines who are sure to win with their on-field use of technology such as a cell phone booster. MLive's Mike Griffith, on the other hand, is sure about a Spartan victory.

While several key players might not be present in the game due to injuries, the Spartans are still expected to perform at their best.

Michigan State University coach Mark Dantonio's classic statement “you're only underdogs if you think you're underdogs” holds true for the team. Under Spartan's direction, Michigan State has enjoyed four 11-win seasons in the last five years.

The Spartans have not had a quality opponent since the first half when they played against Oregon. This is all the more reason why Saturday's game promises to be a highlight event.

Both teams are in the top 25 and have championships to play for. Since 1964, the two teams have played against each other only 10 times.

When it comes to Pac-12, the highlight game was the one between UCLA and Stanford. The Bruins lost this important game and are likely out of the College Football Playoff contention. This win has likely made the Cardinal the Pac-12 North favorite.
