Bill Belichick poised to make appearance on Pat McAfee's NFL Draft broadcast

Could Bill Belichick have a future working in the media? The former six-time Super Bowl-winning coach joined the "Pat McAfee Show" Wednesday morning, and dropped some big news regarding the 2024 NFL draft.

While Belichick hasn't gone through the routine draft process that he was used to over the years, as he's a "free agent" coach now, he will still be heavily involved in the draft. Belichick and host Pat McAfee announced the news that Belichick would join McAfee's show for NFL draft coverage.

Belichick said he's looking forward to seeing the draft from the other side.

"I'm looking forward to it. It's always a draft day draft weekend," Belichick said. "It's always an exciting time for everybody, for the teams that are building their teams and for the fans, and for everybody involved in it. So, it's a great event, and yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it from the other side. It will be fun to be in Detroit."

The New England Patriots moved on from Belichick this offseason after they suffered a 4-13 season last year.

Surprisingly, Belichick wasn't able to find a job as any other team's coach in the offseason, which has him out of coaching in the NFL next season.

Belichick could be preparing for his next potential gig, maybe as a color commentator or analyst, as he is set to provide draft coverage with McAfee next Thursday.

Could there be some turmoil between Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots?

The Atlanta Falcons and their owner, Arthur Blank, were interested in potentially hiring Bill Belichick this offseason as their next coach. According to an ESPN report, Patriots owner Robert Kraft apparently called Blank and warned him not to trust Belichick. The report stated that Kraft found Belichick to be stubborn, arrogant and not trusting.

The Patriots denied the report, while the Falcons declined to comment.

It's hard to believe that the Patriots would go behind Belichick's back and put dirt on his name. The Falcons, who were interested in him as a head coach candidate, held two interviews with the coach. At the same time, the NFL can be a cruel business, and the reports could hold some truth to them.
