All India and South Asia Rugby- Division 1 tournament: Army Red, Maharashtra State Police record victories

The opening day of the All India and South Asia Rugby- Division 1 tournament being played at the Bombay Gymkhana grounds in Mumbai saw plenty of action as most teams registered swiping victories in the first games of the competition.

The first match saw the Army Red face the Bhubaneswar RFC and in a complete demolition, the former beat the latter by a massive margin of 72-0 and seal a spot for a match match against the Winner of Match 5 on Thursday. Bhubaneshwar RFC, though, have yet another chance to get off the mark when they face off against the Jungle Crows later today.

The Jungle Crows themselves will look to get off the mark on Tuesday after suffering a close defeat at the hands of the Maharashtra State Police(MSP), losing 12-17 to them in their first game. The MSP will take on CCFC in the third game of today.

Like the Army Red, the Bombay Gym team also won their opening match in extremely convincing fashion, clinching their tie against the Young Rugby Club(YRC) 70-0. They will play Delhi Hurricanes next, who beat the Bangalore RFC 14-0 in their first match. The Bangalore RFC will play the Young Rugby Club in their next match.
