Shooting at the right place
In an order to make sure that Indian shooters excel in world shooting championships and Olympics, National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has formulated a policy, under which shooters will get technical coaching assistance from good foreign coaches. Finally they realized the importance of world class facilities for sports.While disclosing this, NRAI president Digvijay Singh said Indian government had already promised to get best trainers for the Indian shooters.

By doing this NRAI will lay special emphasis on helping the upcoming shooters, who have potential of bagging medals in world shooting championships and Olympics, by increasing foreign exposure to them.” But I hope the proposal see the light of the day soon. Excellent technical coaching by foreign coaches to the Indian shooters in near future and more foreign trips for the Indian shooters should be arranged. May be this enlightenment has come from the fact that India has produced some world class shooters and have the ability to produce more such shooters. At present NRAI has an Italian coach but they are trying to rope in a few more foreign coaches. Shooting has tremendously gained from the likes of Abhinav Bindra and RVS Rathore but still a lot needs to be done to popularize the sport. There is also a proposal of atleast one air pistol range in public schools across the country. Wow!!! atleast the education will much more sports friendly in coming times.
