5 players whose value will increase after the World Cup

The World Cup is the ultimate stage for any footballer to show everybody his talent. There are some players whose price tags sky rocket after the World Cup. Mesut Ozil, Luis Suarez and Manuel Neuer are a few players who became extremely expensive after the World Cup. The upcoming 2014 World Cup is sure to have its share of star performers and keeping that in mind here is a list of 5 players who will make any club pay through their noses for their services after ocming back from Brazil.

#1 Julian Draxler

The young German is one of football's hottest prospects and is being pursued by a host of clubs, most notably Arsenal who had a bid of around €30 million turned down by Schalke 04. The 20-year-old is expectd to be heavily involved in the national team in Brazil and is just waiting to show his talent in the World Cup. If and when Draxler performs well his transfer value is sure to increase. The midfielder already has a price tag of around £40 milion pounds which could shoot up to over £40 million if the dazzles in the competition.

The youngster has great technical abillity and may soon become one of the best in his position over the next couple of years. Arsenal will almost certainly have ompetition for his signature as he is a fast maturing player and will soon be one of the best in his position over the next couple of years. Records have been broken to sign players like Zinedine Zidane and there is a high posibility of history repeating itself when it comes to Draxler.

#2 Thibaut Courtois

The Chelsea youngster is already regarded as one of the best goal-keepers in the world despite being only 21 years of age. Currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, Courtois is having a stellar season and is one of the key players in the team. The shot stopper helped Atletico win the UEFA Super Cup, Europa League and the Copa Del Rey in his first season with the club and is now helping Atletico in their quest to win the La Liga this season. Courtois will definetly start for Belgium in the World Cup as he as successful displaced Liverpool stopper Simon Miignolet as the the first choice goal-keeper.

The Belgian's Chelsea future is in doubt as Petr Cech is still the number 1 goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge which has caused Courtois to stall on a new deal. There is a high chance of the goalkeeper leaving Chelsea and there would be no shortage of takers if he performs well in the Samba continent. Courtois could even become the most expensive goalkeeper of all time if he is sold.

#3 Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos is another midfielder that is gaining attention all over Europe. The 24-year-old has been absolutely brilliant for Bayern Munich and was one of the key players in their treble winning year last season. The midfielder showed the world what he could do in the recent 2-0 victory over Arsenal where he opened the scoring with a screamer of a goal. Kroos's value will be exorbiant after the World Cup as he is sure to be a key player in Germany's quest in Brazil. The Germany international is also stalling over a new contract which could give potential suitors hope of signing the player.

Manchester United are the current frontrunners for the German's signature with manager David Moyes personally scouting the player but could have some competition if the player puts in a good performance. Even a high price would be worth it as Kroos is extremely versatile and is capable of transforming Manchester United into a force once again.

#4 Alberto Moreno

The talented young left-back is being touted as a potential replacement to Patrice Evra at Manchester United next season. A youth product of Sevilla, Moreno has emerged as a first team regular for his hometown club putting in a string of impressive performances which earned him a call up to the national team. The young Spaniard has made 2 appearnces for his country so far and is expected to travel with them to Brazil for the World Cup where he will help his team try and regain their trophy.

Moreno will spend most of his time on the bench as a back-up to Jordi Alba but will most likely earn some time on the pitch. The 21-year-old has signed a contract until 2018 with Sevilla but could be tempted to leave in favor of Manchester United.

#5 Ross Barkley

The Everton youngster has been one of the Premier League's break out stars this season putting in man of the match perfomances against Norwich, Arsenal and Swansea City along with scoring four goals. The 20-year-old is a talented attacking midfielder and has a high chance of getting a seat on the plane to Brazil with the England squad. The youngster has been praised for his passing and has been compared to Everton great Paul Gascoigne and Chelsea legend Michael Ballack by manager Roberto Martinez.

There will come a time when Barkley beomes too good to play for Everton and will leave for one of the big clubs in the future. Everton will try their best to hold on to their young star but the prospect of linking up with former manager David Moyes may be too tempting for Barkley to refuse.
