5 aspects of FIFA 14 that need improvement

The most popular football simulation game in the world, FIFA has beaten it's rivals PES for the past 7 years in every aspect of the game. The graphics, gameplay and player likenesses have always been key features of the FIFA game. Why is this game not the most perfect game ever is the question of the fans. Here are 5 reasons why FIFA still isn't the best game ever

#5 The new Transfer Market System

The Global Transfer Market was a new addition and also a great surprise. The transfer market is one of the major reasons to start playing career mode.

The concept of sending scouts to countries to find the players of your requirements is nice but it doesn't work well. The scouts never seem to find players that are good enough for your team. Even 4 star rated scouts are unable to find the right talent.

Searching for the players using the search bar in the transfer menu has been the most effective to way to search for a player. Players don't come with any skill stats unless they're listed for transfer, loan or as a free agent.

If you're searching for young players with potential, searching through the biggest league using the age restriction is ideal. If a player is 18 and not listed for loan then there is a chance that he is already at a very high level for his age.

To add to his, if anything like ‘showing great potential’ or ‘an exciting prospect’ is shown then he probably is going to grow into an extremely valuable player. Though you could end up spending £4-8 million on an overall 74 player due to his young age, there's no doubt that you'll make a big profit after 2 or 3 seasons of regular starts.

#4 Headed goals still very frequent

You'll enjoy this aspect as long as you are doing it but when an opponent or an online player takes advantage of this facet, it will definitely boil your blood.

EA has tried it best to fix this glitch but is still unsuccessful. The problem is that a cross could be met by an attacker of any height or strength regardless of how tall or strong the defender is, or what his position is. When the header is executed, the keeper would stand idly and watch the ball go past him which makes no sense at all.

It is said that EA is reportedly working on a fix for this glitch and are confident of fixing it in FIFA 15.

#3 Lack of Ball Control

One of the more iffy parts of the gameplay in FIFA 14. This is quite a problem as a player is dispossessed quite easily as EA has made tackling more of a focal point unlike it's previous titles where the ball was quite hard to take away.

Dribbling and first touches seem very delicate aspects of the game. The ball control is quite unpredictable which forces you into mistakes quite often.

Mistakes do happen in real-life football on the pitch but mistakes in a game should be up to the human with the controller and not the AI that the player cannot control.

#2 Menu page lag

This problem is only present in the current version of the game. The frustrating part is when you are in Career Mode and your game menu freezes.

Switching between the tabs takes long enough and also the team management page makes you question the ability of your gaming console.

When scouting players using the Global Transfer Network in FIFA 14, there will be a 5-6 second lag when you try to check the stats of the player you are scouting.

#1 The Statue Glitch

The worst of all problems. Assume a scene where you are the last defender and the opposition striker comes towards you with the ball and suddenly your player stops dead. You would be left helpless. The defender will just watch the striker move and would remain idle.

This glitch can happen to any player in any position on the field. It maybe the defender or even the striker.

EA needs to definitely fix this glitch because it is the main reason that stops FIFA 14 from becoming the best ever version.
