“TABLE TENNIS”

Table tennis

Invented in England in 1880’s spread throughout the world when the Europeans tried to colonize the eastern hemisphere. Enough about the history lets get to the interesting part!!!!!!!!!

Wang ho of China stands first in the world as always. Our very own homie Sharth kamal stands 63rd in the world.

About the game itself; it increases decision making abilities, strategically wise thinking of players , provides physical fitness and helps in reading opponents mind. Its not the game of the weak but its of the most intelligent. The spins which are to be thought of , the force to be applied is to be known of. It is the game of only the brave hearted.

The popularity of the game in India is only 28%. Why ?????? that’s a whole new topic.

The second most populated country in the world is finding it difficult to bag at least some place in the Olympics.when enquired as to why with my excellent coach Mr. Praveen Joshi he said lack of good coaches, most people don’t get opportunity to play cause unlike football or cricket its difficult to get a table tennis board.

He said good players must come forward for coaching the younger generation. Parents must also motivate kids to take up such sport rather than giving importance to popular ones. The government and various sports organization must provide better motivation and aid to players and must not seek commercial profit as cricket or foot ball has become.

In China during the time of Mao Zedong tables were placed in military camps, factories, schools, colleges compulsorily to promote the game and today Chinese stand top in the world.

The feel of the game is of heavenly magnitude. The tricks and turns and the drops, the top spins, the 150km/hr smashes tell why its truly an exciting game.

The tournaments are a sight of heavenly splendor. The small enthusiastic lads trying to give it heir best and putting up a show worth of being admired is just marvelous. The game literally tests your metal. My coach always keep telling that the game is to be played slow but when it gets going the ball seems like two “Super Saians”[I’m a fan of Dragon Ball Z] fighting. Just can’t see the ball.

This is my testimony of the greatest game according to me.

Finally would like to end by saying that a game has to played to improve yourself and the game and not to meet selfish motives; in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
