Angel Reese beckons Chicago Sky faithful to sellout 2024 WNBA merchandise

Former LSU star Angel Reese was one of two top picks made by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Days after being drafted, she's now urging fans to secure new merchandise ahead of the season.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Sky announced that have jerseys available for Reese and fellow top pick Kamilla Cardoso. The former NCAA champion hit social media trying to gets to cause a sell out.

Chicago traded up one spot in the WNBA Draft and used that pick to select Angel Reese. The six-foot-three forward is coming off a senior season at LSU, where she averaged 18.6 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Before taking Reese at No. 7, the Sky's first pick of the night was at No. 3. With this pick, they selected South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso. She played a key role in their perfect season, averaging 14.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.

Angel Reese looking to match college rival Caitlin Clark

Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso are just two of the many big names from the 2024 WNBA Draft. The prospect garnering the most attention was Caitlin Clark. Coming off a historic run at Iowa, she was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever.

Reese urging for a sellout of jerseys could have to do with events that transpired regarding Clark. In the hours following her draft selection, her Fever jersey sold out in almost every size.

Seeing Clark put up these numbers, Reese might be trying to do the same. She too was one of the biggest names in women's college basketball, leading LSU to a championship in 2023.

After battling it out in college, Reese and Clark will continue their rivalry on the WNBA stage. Their games drew massive crowds in the last two years and might bring fresh faces to the pros.

The Reese-Clark feud began during LSU's run to a title in 2023. As it became clear that her team was going to win, Reese was seen mocking Clark with her own gesture. Iowa and LSU battled it out again in the NCAA tournament this year, where Clark exacted revenge.

At this time, it's unknown when these two will face off in the WNBA. The regular season is slated to being in the middle of May.
