Asian Cadet Wrestling: India win four medals on the last day

Indians had to plenty to cheer about on the final day of the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championships as the host nation collected four medals.

The highlight was Divya Kakran winning gold against Mongolian Byambadorj Tsetsegbayar in the women’s 70 Kg category with a score of 3-2. In the 85 Kg Greco Roman category, Deepak secured a bronze.

Sumit and Monu also settled for bronze in the 100 Kg and 46 Kg categories respectively.

India finished in second position in freestyle with 74 points behind Iran’s 77 points. Uzbekistan came in third with 59 points. Iran also pocketed the Greco Roman Style competition by scoring 82 points. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan came in second and third with 65 and 63 points respectively.

India were runners-up in the female category with 82 points. Japan took home the title with a total tally of 92 points while Kazakhstan came in third with 67 points.
