The much anticipated international friendlies among South Asian neighbours India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, which was supposed to be played at Fulham’s Craven Cottage next month, has been indefinitely cancelled, the West London-based EPL club confirmed to Sportskeeda on Tuesday.

Although none of the federations had confirmed the matches officially, Fulham had put the tickets of the matches on sale on their website a few weeks ago, with India being scheduled to play Bangladesh on June 1 and Pakistan on June 4 while Bangladesh and Pakistan were supposed to face each other on June 8.

The tickets are no longer available as the matches have been cancelled, and confirming about the same, a spokesperson of the Fulham press office told Sportskeeda on Tuesday, “All three matches were cancelled yesterday following instructions from the organisers about the problems. Some tickets were bought by the fans but they will be refunded soon.”

Sources in the AIFF have also told various sections of the Indian media that the organisers, a Kolkata-based sports management company, had written to them about the cancellation due to unavoidable reasons.

The news will be a major disappointment for South Asian expats in the UK, while it remains to be seen whether the AIFF organises any other international friendlies for the national team in the summer.
