The Times Now have reported that the demands made by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have been accepted by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), paving the way for India to come back into Olympics fold. The elections that were held in December will now be cancelled out by the IOA and new elections shall be conducted soon. There was also a tenure clause to be agreed which said that the office bearers cannot hold the office for more than eight years and they must not be of more than 70 years of age.

The discussion between IOC and IOA is believed to be the first of its kind after India was suspended for failing to adhere to the Olympic charter five months earlier.

VK Malhotra, who is the acting president of IOA and Randhir Singh, who is an IOC member in India had both pulled out of the meeting dramatically after both of them had decided to snub the meeting after the IOC agreed to include Narinder Batra, who is the Hockey India general secretary and R K Anand, who is the Jharkhand Olympic Association president in the IOA delegation for the meeting.
