Anthony Davis makes bold claim about 2-7 LA Lakers: “I know teams fear us, for sure”

With their offense in disarray, the LA Lakers have stuttered to a 2-7 record. However, superstar Anthony Davis claims that the LA Lakers are capable of beating any given team on any given day as they have a lot of quality players on the roster.

In a post-game interview after a yet-another loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Anthony Davis said the following to a group of reporters:

"We have a lot of guys that teams have to worry about. We’re not the team that our record shows. But any given night our team can play very well and explode ... I know teams fear us, for sure."

With the superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing at an All-Star level and Russell Westbrook quickly adapting to his off-the-bench role, the LA Lakers have the superstars necessary to beat quality teams. However, their team's lack of wing depth from 3-point shooting is a cause of concern.

With the league relying a lot on 3-point shooting, Davis' point holds that the LA Lakers can defeat anyone on any night with a 3-point barrage. But the chances of that happening consistently are less than other teams as the team has the worst 3-point shooting across the entire league.

LA Lakers' terrible start to the new season

The LA Lakers have had a disastrous start to the new NBA season as they have looked outright bad in a lot of their games so far. LeBron James hasn't looked completely like his most-dominant self as he battles through various niggles. James is also going through a rough 3-point shooting streak right now as well.

Fellow superstar Anthony Davis has recovered his mojo on the defensive end of the floor. However, his 3-point shooting is yet to return to his usual percentage. But to his credit, Davis has played the center position throughout the season without any fuss and played his part in the LA Lakers victories.

Maligned star Russell Westbrook looks to have turned a corner as the former MVP has been playing really good basketball ever since coach Darwin Ham decided to bring him off the bench. Westbrook has been a great leader for the second unit and looks to have found his joy again in playing basketball.

However, the LA Lakers have been unable to combine all their aspects consistently and this has resulted in a bad start. The LA Lakers are unable to provide any quality spacing to the LA Lakers superstar duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James and this has resulted in a lot of bad-looking isolation plays.
