What are Mac McClung’s contract details with Philadelphia Sixers? Duration, salary, two-way contract, and more

Mac McClung is getting another shot in the NBA. This time, it's as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.

NBA insider Shams Charania has reported that Mac McClung is expected to sign a two-way NBA contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. Under the rules set by the league, two-way players are eligible to be active for up to 50 of their team's 82 regular-season games.

When the two-way contract was established, it was originally set at 45 days. Since then, the league has decided to upgrade it to 50 games instead of days.

Another update for the two-way contract is the salary. McClung will now receive a flat rate of $508,891. That is equivalent to half of the rookie minimum contract. The contract should last for one year, until the Philadelphia 76ers make a decision on whether they want to convert the deal to a full-time contract or choose to go in another direction.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported the news on Tuesday morning. McClung has been playing in the G League for the Delaware Blue Coats. The Blue Coats have been the affiliate team for the 76ers franchise. McClung has spent the majority of his basketball career in the G League. He's played a total of three games in the NBA over the course of three seasons.

McClung had a strong season for the Delaware Blue Coats in 2022-23. In 18 games, McClung was averaging 19.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 57.9% from the field and 50.0% from 3-point range.

McClung was known as a high school phenom for his athleticism and highlights. He played college basketball at Georgetown before transferring to Texas Tech. Since going undrafted, McClung has shown some promising signs in the NBA's Summer League, but has struggled to latch on at the NBA level. He averaged 19.6 points per game last year with the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.
