5 quickest managers to 500 Premier League points
#3 Jurgen Klopp (2020 Premier League winner) - 236 games
Jurgen Klopp has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water. The former Borussia Dortmund manager has managed nearly 250 games in the competition, winning 152.
One of 11 men to win the competition, the German tactician is one of the quickest managers to accumulate 500 points in the Premier League. After joining Liverpool in 2015, Klopp ended the Reds' three-decade wait for a league title in 2019-20.
He recently hit the 150-win mark in the Premier League quicker than any other Liverpool manager.
Currently second in the league table, Liverpool are eyeing a second Premier League title in three years.
#2 Jose Mourinho (three-time Premier League winner) - 231 games
Jose Mourinho is another legendary manager to have managed in the English top-flight.
The three-time Premier League winner (all with Chelsea) has managed three different clubs in the competition. Mourinho created history in 2014 when he became the quickest manager to amass 400 points in the competition. The Portuguese took only 174 games to reach the landmark, beating the previous record of Sir Alex Ferguson by 17 games.
The current AS Roma tactician has 217 of his 363 games in the English top flight. He has won league titles in three different countries and is one of a handful of managers to win the Champions League with multiple clubs.
#1 Pep Guardiola (three-time Premier League winner) - 213 games
Pep Guardiola has an enviable managerial resume. Among his plethora of achievements, he has won three league titles in as many different countries (Spain, Germany, England).
The Manchester City manager recently added another feather to his cap. Guardiola's men were held to a 1-1 draw at Southampton on Saturday. That ended the league leaders' 11-game winning streak. However, the point was Guardiola's 500th in 213 games in the English top flight, making him the quickest to reach the landmark.
Recently, the three-time Premier League winner became the quickest to oversee 500 goals in the competition. With City leading Liverpool by nine points, albeit having played a game more, Guardiola is on course to become only the second manager to win four Premier League titles.
