This time around, Andrade proved that he is currently the best fighter in the bantamweight division with a great performance that led to Lineker’s corner calling off the fight before the fifth round.

In between Andrade and Lineker’s fights, Stephen Loman proved himself to be the next in line for whoever emerged as the new bantamweight world champion.

Following the events of ONE Fight Night 7, Loman showed his respect towards Fabricio Andrade for his title-winning performance.

In an interview with 'The MMA Superfan' on YouTube, he said:

“His striking combinations were pretty good and he always caught Lineker with the knees, especially the knees. And John couldn’t make it to the fifth round that’s why Fabricio took the win. It was a very good fight. I have to congratulate Fabricio because he won the fight.”

At ONE Fight Night 7, Fabricio Andrade finally put his rivalry with John Lineker to bed and already had his next opponent in mind, calling out Stephen Loman.

On February 24, ‘Wonder Boy’ produced another stellar performance inside the Circle to become the new ONE bantamweight world champion.

With a fourth-straight knockout to remain undefeated since signing with ONE Championship, Andrade emotionally broke down immediately after having his hand raised.

As Mitch Chilson stepped through the ropes of the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium to join Fabricio Andrade for his post-fight interview, the newly crowned world champion knew exactly what he wanted next.

Throughout his clashes with John Lineker, Andrade has acknowledged Stephen Loman as the next in line for the belt after his undefeated run under the ONE banner.

In his first interview as the bantamweight division’s world champion, Andrade said:

“We already got a contender in line. [Stephen] Loman, you want this? Come and get it.”

Loman has picked up three consecutive wins since signing with ONE Championship at the end of 2021. The Team Lakay fighter showed his complete overall game at ONE on Prime Video 4 where he used his wrestling to control the division’s former world champion, Bibiano Fernandes.
