Possible Raw spoilers: Big NXT names backstage could be backstage at Raw tonight

What's the story?

According to a report from Wrestlingnews.co, fans in the vicinity of tonight's episode of Raw from the Cajundome in New Orleans saw a few notable names from NXT entering the building including Aleister Black and some current NXT champions.

In case you missed it . . .

Although WWE has tried to bring up its ratings since the record lows at the end of 2018, they haven't steadily risen to a safe enough spot for WWE's mindset.

The original drop in ratings brought about the 'New Era' promise by the McMahons, but apparently, WWE hasn't done enough to bring back some of the viewers they may have lost at the end of last year.

The heart of the matter

The report from Wrestlingnews.co noted that the four top male NXT superstars, Ricochet, Aleister Black, North American Champion Johnny Gargano and NXT Champion Tomasso Ciampa, were all seen arriving at the site of tonight's Raw at the Cajundome.

It also noted via PWInsider that all four men are 'listed on the script for tonight's Raw and that as of now, they are scheduled to appear'.

Wrestlingnews.co also noted that things could obviously change between now and Raw because Vince McMahon often changes his mind, and it's not known if this would be a one-off deal or something for them to do on the main roster now.

Another interesting tidbit in the report is that Aleister Black was among the names of the other six call-ups a few months ago.

Since late last year, Lacey Evans, Heavy Machinery, Nikki Cross and EC3 have all debuted and sporadically appeared on both Raw and SmackDown as new faces for the main roster.

It also noted that all of the four men could have moved up to Raw or SmackDown but the Creative didn't want them moving up with nothing for them to do.

What's Next?

For the immediate future, we'll have to wait to first see if they do indeed appear, and if they appear, in what capacity.

If it is backstage vignettes, that would be one simple way to get them on the roster, but if they go out to the ring, that would make a bigger impact.

Also, will they just be interacting with each other or will they be mixing it up with main roster stars like Seth Rollins, Alexa Bliss or Finn Balor?

Those four stars, Ricochet, Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa would certainly get any hardcore fans WWE may have lost to tune into Raw once again.
