Super ShowDown had a number of shocking botches!

WWE Super ShowDown 2020: 5 Botches you missed

WWE's main roster traveled to Saudi Arabia for the fifth time and presented Super ShowDown from Riyadh. It was a show that boasted a stacked card including five Championship matches as well as the first-ever Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet match.

The show itself promised so much and even delivered on the rumored Undertaker appearance as The Deadman appeared for the first time since SummerSlam 2019 and targeted AJ Styles.

The Miz and John Morrison became Tag Team Champions for the first time in more than a decade when they were able to defeat The New Day, and Goldberg was able to become a two-time Universal Champion. The WCW Legend managed to overcome the threat of The Fiend who was missing his red light for the second time and will now presumably wrestle the winner of the Elimination Chamber match at WrestleMania.

Whilst it was a disappointing end to a decent show, there were several botches throughout that many fans may have overlooked.

#5. Audio Botch

The kickoff show for Super ShowDown saw The OC take on The Viking Raiders and a lot of talking from Charley Caruso, Scott Stanford and David Otunga in the WWE studio before they played promos ahead of the matches in Saudi Arabia.

Ricochet had an interesting promo package where he talked about how he could become WWE Champion, which is obviously every wrestler's dream. The package played for the first time on the kickoff show and interestingly throughout the package the stars could be heard talking in the studio since their mic's hadn't been muted.

Charley was heard audibly realizing that she could still be heard at one point before WWE seemingly decided to mute them, but this is quite a juvenile botch from WWE at this point.

#4. Undertaker's Chokeslam

One of the biggest talking points of the night would have to be the fact that The Undertaker returned to WWE for the first time in six months and targetted the man he is expected to face in Tampa in April and won the Tuwaiq Trophy in the process.

Of course, The Undertaker is looking to end his WWE career soon and given the fact that this was his first appearance in Saudi Arabia since his ill-fated match with Goldberg back at Super ShowDown at the beginning of 2019, he wanted to make a much better impression in the Middle East upon his return.

Sadly, this wasn't the case as Undertaker literally only appeared to deliver a chokeslam to AJ Styles, but as he lifted him it was obvious that his knee buckled and he was almost dropped. The botch wasn't as big as the ones in his match against Styles, but any fans who were watching intently would have realized that this wasn't the chokeslam that The Deadman usually delivers.

#3. Mansoor botches his moonsault

Mansoor is WWE's only Saudi Arabian athlete at present which means that every time the company travels to the Middle East he is given a showcase match. Last year he was able to take on Cesaro in a show-stealing match, but no such luck this year as he took on Dolph Ziggler and his botch was clear to see.

Mansoor's finisher has always been a moonsault, but when he delivered it to Dolph Ziggler to end their match, the move was quite far away from it's intended target which means that Ziggler received both of Mansoor's knees in the chest in what was a brutal spot.

After Mansoor won the match he went on to deliver a rousing speech to his followers in his hometown but interestingly there were a number of boos throughout, which could mean that his return to the country in the fall of this year could allow him to turn heel or at least tease the prospect since his hometown has already started to turn on him.

#2. Viking Raiders vs The OC

The Viking Raiders were relegated to the kickoff show of Super ShowDown as they looked to exact some revenge on the men who ended their undefeated streak in the Middle East, but this wasn't the case as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson once again walked out victorious.

It wasn't the best match by either team's standards since Viking Raiders are one of WWE's best and The OC recently won the crown of Best Tag Team In the World. That being said, it was on the kickoff show of what Shawn Michaels described as a "glorified house show" so there weren't many high expectations.

That being said, there were a few botches in the match, the most obvious saw Ivar almost completely miss his handstand double clothesline, before The OC looked as though the delivery of The Magic Killer was botched too, as Luke Gallows dropped before Karl Anderson was in position. There were many other scrappy moments throughout but not enough to be called botches, just a lot of sloppiness.

#1. The women's match was full of botches

Bayley and Naomi made history in the Middle East when they were part of the first-ever Women's Championship match in the continent, but it was Bayley who came out on top when she defeated Naomi with quite a unique maneuver.

Naomi botched a number of spots throughout the match including her Scorpion Kick where she almost fell over, the springboard that she intended to be a clothesline turned into a spear of sorts and forced Corey Graves to try to cover it by saying that it wasn't intended, but it was effective.

The women's match wasn't as solid as the performance from Lacey Evans and Natalya last year at Crown Jewel, but it was still a match that made history and allowed both women to show off their athletic side.

This now means that Naomi will go to the back of the queue in the Women's Division and the winner of the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match will challenge Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania in Tampa.
