He is currently signed to the WWE where he performs for the SmackDown brand under the ring name of Dolph Ziggler. WWE signed him up in 2004, prior to which he had a very successful amateur wrestling career.
Nemeth was an avid professional wrestling fan from a very young age of five and by the time he turned twelve, he had already decided that he wanted to become a wrestler when he grew up. Nemeth went to school at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, where he was an amateur wrestler. He was teammates with wrestlers like Gray Maynard and Andy Hrovat, during his time St. Edward. He even had a glittering career as a collegiate wrestler while at Kent State University. He was a three-time All-Mid-American Conference champion, winning the 165 lb (75 kg) tournament in 2000, 2002, 2003 and also set the-then record for most career wins in the team's history. He had a total of 121 career wins between 2000 and 2003.
Nemeth signed with the WWE in 2004, and shuffled roles between Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) and the Raw brand, as a caddy partner to Kerwin White. After a stint with the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), he was restored back to the main roster where he adopted the ring name Dolph Ziggler. WWE initially placed him at the SmackDown brand, before shifting him to Raw in 2011 after which he started appearing in both the brands.
Ziggler won his first main roster title in 2010 when he defeated Kofi Kingston to win the Intercontinental Championship. He then went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship five more times, the United States Championship twice, and the Raw Tag Team Championship once.
He has had major feuds with The Great Khali, Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, John Cena, Sheamus, Kevin Owens and an on-going feud with Kofi Kingston which stems all the way back to the first Intercontinental title victory for Ziggler.
As a side interest, Ziggler found himself inspired by comedians like Johnny Carson, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey, Jan Hooks, Phil Hartman, Adam Sandler and started doing comedy in 2010. He began hosting a monthly improve comedy show called âFlying Chuckâ alongside fellow professional wrestlers John Morrison and his brother Ryan Nemeth. He appeared on Comedy Central's Roast Battle III facing off against Sarah Tiana in July 2018.
Following the 2019 Royal Rumble event, Ziggler embarked on his first headlining tour from January 27, through the end of March 2019. He would take a break from WWE television to focus on the tour.
