India wins bronze at Archery World Cup 2015 in Shanghai

The Indian Compound Archery team won their game against France on Saturday, the 9th of May 2015, at the Bronze play-offs of the 2015 Archery World Cup. The team, comprised of Asian Games archers Chinglensana, Abhishek Verma and Rajat Chauhan. They were beat in the semi-finals by the Iranian team, following which they competed in the third-place playoffs.

The Indian trio had previously defeated the Mexico and USA teams.

On the other hand, the women's Compound archery team has already bowed out of the tournament in the quarter-finals, losing to the fourth-seeded Malaysian side. The Women's Recurve team, finishing in 18th spot in the qualifications, was also eliminated from the competition as they needed to qualify 16th or above to continue to be part of the tournament. As the men's recurve team also faced defeat by the Indonesian team, the bronze by the Men's Compound Archery team concluded India's run at the 2015 Archery World Cup.
