The competition at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games will be extremely challenging, featuring some of the strongest archers in the world from Korea, China and Chinese Taipei. In the 2010 Asian Games at Guangzhou, Tarundeep Rai had bagged India’s only silver and only individual medal, while the men’s and women’s teams bagged a bronze each .Tarundeep is back in the Indian team along with India's other top archers like Deepika Kumari, Abhishek Verma and Bombayla Devi.
India’s 16-member archery team is currently in South Korea, a full month ahead of the Asian Games to acclimatize to the conditions there. The archery events at Incheon 2014 will kick off on the 23rd of September with the finals of every event concluding on the 27th and 28th of September.
With a five medal haul in the recently concluded Archery World Cup Stage IV in Wroclaw, the Indian archers look in good form to increase their medals tally from the three won at Guangzhou 2010.
