Dakotah Lindwurm, born on May 1, 1995, is a professional long distance marathon runner who turned from a college athlete into a professional athlete.

She was recruited by Northern State University where she was on the cross country and track teams for the Wolves. She was a five-time Division II National Qualifier, finished 6th in the 2017 Division II 10,000m First Team All-American, and finished 34th in the 2017 Division II Cross Country Second Team All-American.


In 2017, after finishing her college running career, Dakotah focused on becoming a professional runner to compete in the marathon. In 2018, she won the USATF Minnesota 8k Championship and became first at the Women Run the Cities 10 Mile in Minneapolis.

Junior (2015 - 2016)

In her junior year, Dakota Lindwrum while competing in distance events for the Wolves her achievements were nothing short of remarkable. Qualifying for the NCAA National Outdoor Championships in the 10,000m run with the 13th fastest time in the nation in 35:16.70.


With nine top-10 finishes throughout the year, including a victory in the 5,000m run at the Emporia State Relays in 17:13:51. She finished third at the NSIC Outdoor Championships in both the 5,000m and 10,000m runs for All-Conference status and listed her personal bests in both the outdoor 5k meter (17:07.38) and 10k meter (35:16.70).


Her indoor bests in the 800m (2:36.35), mile (5:20.45), and 3,000m (10:20.41). She was placed 13th overall in the 10,000m run at the NCAA Outdoor Championship. Her notable achievements included winning the 5000m run at the NSIC vs. MIAA Showdown and breaking the outdoor school record in the 10,000m run at the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 34:57.14. Her success continued with a runner-up finish at the NSIC Outdoor Championships and qualification for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in both the 5000m and 10,000m events ranked 16th and eighth overall heading into the meet. She added her name to the USTFCCCA All-Region team in the 5000m and 10,000m and earned All-American honors in the 10,000m finishing sixth overall. She finished 18th in the nation in the 5000m run.


In cross country, Lindwrum claimed victories both at the Herb Blakely Invitational with a time of 18:25.0 (5k) and the Jimmie Invitational with a time of 17:33.0 (5k). Her performances in both the NSIC Conference Championships and the Central Regional Championships where she finished 5th in the championships with times of 21:20.9 (6k), and 21:32.4 (6k) respectively earned her All-NSIC, All-Region. She finished 34th in the NCAA Championship cementing her status as one of the top collegiate athletes earning her the All-American Honour.
