Doha Diamond League 2018, Neeraj Chopra carries India's hopes: Telecast, live streaming, date, start time and where to watch online
India's Neeraj Chopra will be in action later on Friday at the Doha Diamond League 2018. The Diamond League comes under the International Association of Athletics Federation and will see the return of the youngster after his heroics at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Neeraj is India's premier Javelin thrower and wowed audiences in Gold Coast with his performances. He claimed the Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games after throwing over a distance of 86.47m, almost 4m more than runners-up Hamish Peacock.
The 20-year-old could have claimed the top prize with his first throw itself, which scaled over a distance of 85.50m. His remaining throws also covered a greater distance than those of second-placed Peacock. Ultimately, Neeraj's closest competitor in the competition was Neeraj himself, as he threw a seasonal best throw of 86.47m.
The 20-year-old track and field athlete was born in Haryana and represents a great prospect for a medal in Tokyo 2020. Chopra has previously bagged the gold medal at the Asian Championships, the World U20 Championships, and the South Asian Games while he finished second in the Asian Junior Championships.
The Doha Diamond League provides yet another opportunity for him to show the world his talent. He will be looking to carry over his great form from the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games over to Qatar as he returns to action.
