Emily Sisson’s College Career.

Emily Sisson became a university athlete in fall 2010, competing for the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She chose to move to Providence College in Rhode Island at the end of her freshman year, making it clear that it didn't feel right at Wisconsin and adding that she had the opportunity to work with coach Ray Treacy.


FRESHMAN (2010-11):

She made immediate waves during her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin, in cross country races where she performed exceptionally at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional and Big Ten Championships garnering All-Region accolades in the latter and First-Team All-Big Ten in the former.


A showcase of her ability came at the Adidas Invitational in Wisconsin and Pre-NCAA Invitational where she emerged as the coach's first for the UW team in both events. Her lead role was at the NCAA Championship where she not only finished 14th but earned an All-America honor which is one of the most coveted college athletic awards an athlete can get.


On the outdoor track, however, she continued to excel mostly in the 5,000 meters and was able to earn second-team All-Americans and all-Big Ten honors in her impressive performances.


SOPHOMORE (2011-12):

Throughout her collegiate career, she was truly exceptional when participating in indoor and outdoor track events as she consistently performed at a high level. Particularly, she performed exceptionally in the cross country with impressive placings in different competitions. She earned first place at the Bryant University Nassaney Invitational, for example. The indoor track was the next step where she surrendered her impressive status, earning Second Team All-America and podium placements among the events of mile and 3,000 meters. On the outdoor track, she also excelled with a notable fourth place in the NCAA Championships and a first-place win at the 5,000 meters in the BIG EASTChampionship.


JUNIOR (2012-13):

Her college record was all about outstanding performance at cross-country, indoor, and outdoor track through her dominance in the sport. In particular, she garnered All-America status for the Cross Country Championship at the NCAA DI National Championship and the 5000 meters in the NCAA Indoor Track Championship. She opened an outstanding track career with records in 1600 meters and 3000 meters for the New England Championship and BIG EAST Championship, respectively.


Among her other remarkable performances on the track was her third place at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and the BIG EAST Championships, where she gained trophies for first-place accomplishments in the 5000-meter and 10000-meter competitions.

As a freshman in 2006 at Marian High School, Emily Sisson managed to achieve the state cross country title in the fall and the 3200m title in the spring. Next, for her sophomore year, she moved to Millard North High School and, thus, regained the state title in cross-country and also won state titles in 800m, 1600m, and 3200m. In her senior year in high school, Sisson moved to Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield, Missouri.


As a skilled performer in both track and cross country, Sisson has successfully progressed through every level on both state and national levels. Her beautiful ascent began with the true historical cross-country state championships, which made her watch still to this day.


Her skills range to the field competitions where she exhibited incredible speed and stamina and through this, she won various state titles over multiple distances. However, she made records and bagged titles across the 800m to 5,000m displaying incredible flexibility and talent. She even sealed a spot on the U.S. IAAF National Team for the 2010 Junior World XC Championships, an event that demonstrated her excellence in the athletic world.
