I have been performing consistently yet havent been offered a job: Inderjeet Singh

Inderjeet Singh unhappy over not being offered a job

Shot Putter Inderjeet Singh has expressed disappointment at not being offered a job by the state government despite delivering excellent performances. The 26-year-old Haryana athlete has had a very good 2015 so far, in which he has already for the 2016 Rio Olympics, courtesy his effort of 20.65m, which helped him clinch Gold at the Federation Cup that were held in Mangalore last month.

He backed that effort with another Gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships, earlier this month with an effort of 20.41m.

“I have been consistently performing well for the past two years, but the state government has failed to offer me a job,” Inderjeet said.

“It is discouraging that athletes with mediocre performances at the international level have got jobs and I have been ignored” he added.

The athlete also said he can no longer continue to borrow money from his relatives and friends.

“I can no longer keep borrowing money from friends and family,” he said

Inderjeet’s next event is the Asian Grand Prix Games, that will be held in Thailand next week. He is set to leave for the event tomorrow.
