Moscow, Nov 8 (IANS/RIA Novosti):

Russian race walker Elena Lashmanova has had her world record set at the London Olympic ratified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Lashmanova won Olympic gold in the women’s 20-km race walk, which she finished in one hour, 25 minutes and two seconds.

The previous world record set by Russia’s Vera Sokolova at the Russian Championships last year was 1:25.08.

Other world records ratified by the IAAF Wednesday include the men’s 800 metres record set by David Rudisha of Kenya and Jamaica’s record in the men’s 4×100 metres relay.

The US got its record in the women’s 4×100 metres relay ratified while Nijel Amos of Botswana received a nod to his world junior record in the men’s 800 metres.
