Taliyah Brooks is an American professional athlete who competes in multiple track and field events. While attending S. H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas, Brooks became a regional finalist in hurdles, high jump, and long jump. She set new school records in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, high jump, long jump, and 4x400m relay event. She was also named Academic All-District for four consecutive years, earned the title of Texas Scholar and was inducted into the National Honor Society. In July 2023, she participated in the U.S. National Championships in Eugene, Oregon, and clinched a silver medal. The following month, she qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. In 2024, she earned her place in the Paris Olympics by securing third spot in the heptathlon with a personal best of 6,408 points at the United States Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Following her high school education, Brooks enrolled at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. At the university, she competed for the Arkansas Razorbacks (The Hogs) and achieved several milestones, including becoming an NACAC gold medalist in the heptathlon, an NCAA champion in the pentathlon, the 2018 SEC Indoor champion in the pentathlon, and the 2017 SEC Outdoor champion in the heptathlon. Additionally, she earned two NCAA Outdoor bronze medals (long jump & heptathlon) and was named an eight-time All-American. Brooks graduated from the University of Arkansas with a major in communications and a minor in legal studies.
