3 best March Madness commercials of 2023 featuring Capital One, Coca-Cola, and more

Louisville v Iowa
March Madness often features several large ad campaigns from Coca-Cola and others.

March Madness comes with plenty of exciting games. There are buzzer beaters, dramatic finishes, Cinderella stories and wild upsets.

You can often fall onto your couch with basketball overload. However, while watching, you often see the same few commercial campaigns over and over.

Here are some of the best ones we have seen so far in March.

Capital One

Capital One has been a mainstay during March Madness commercials for years. Actor Samuel L. Jackson and film director Spike Lee often team up with basketball legend and TV analyst Charles Barkley as hilarity ensues. Basketball great Magic Johnson makes some cameos as well.

The three have been in this campaign for years, often gathering in a car depicting their trip to the Final Four. Recently, commentator Jim Nantz has joined in on the fun as well.

This year, one of the best spots between the groups is a play on the halftime show. Barkley shows off his infamous dance moves with his new band, “Chuck and the Chuckettes.” Barkley is charming as usual and steals the show in this one.

Coca-Cola Zero Sugar

Stars from the TV show "Dave," Lil Dicky and Taco star in this campaign for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. They feature in multiple spots.

The best of which may be this one that takes place in a convenience store. The two comedic stars debate who is the best basketball shot-blocker of all time. UConn legend and former NBA player Hasheem Thabeet gets a name drop in a humorous moment.

Magic Johnson crosses over and makes a cameo at the end of this ad as well, stealing the coveted Coke can in the end.

Jersey Mike’s

The sandwich shop has been growing in popularity across the country. They offer deli cold-cut sandwiches, much like a Subway.

They made a splash in March Madness this year with a flashy commercial featuring actor Danny DeVito.

This ad mixes in some classic pop culture references with something every movie in the '70s and '80s had, a montage.

DeVito leads Jersey Mike’s employees in a training regimen set to the tune of the classic hit “Eye of The Tiger” by Survivor. This, of course, is a reference to the classic film "Rocky."

It is a creative combination between culinary creations and cult film classics.
