"Undeserving": Fans react to SEC having 11 bids in the 2024 NCAA baseball tournament

Fans reacted as the SEC, the country's premier athletic conference, managed a historic 11 bids at the 2024 NCAA baseball tournament. This is a record for most schools to the national tourney by any conference in the history of the competition.

In the process, SEC broke its previous record of 10 schools, set in 2023. An Oregon State fan gave his thoughts on the same with a simple statement:

"Undeserving"

Another fan seemed confused as to how the national seeds were being awarded:

"The team who placed 5th in that league is not hosting. The team that placed 6th is a national seed. Confusing."

An SEC fan decided to try and vindicate the decision by the committee:

"There’s a reason that 9 out of the last 14 winners have been from the SEC"

SEC fans in general were ready to defend their conference from others:

The SEC not only got a record number of schools into the NCAA baseball tournament, but they also managed the first (Tennessee), second (Kentucky), third (Texas A&M) and fifth (Arkansas) national seeds.

With that, the SEC gets four of the top five national seeds. That once again cements the southern conference as one of if not the best in the nation.

Which SEC teams are participating in the NCAA baseball tournament?

Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt will be participating in the NCAA baseball tournament later this year.

Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas A&M will be hosting regionals, while Alabama, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt will be going on the road.

The SEC is also the favorite to win the tournament, with the oddsmakers favoring the Tennessee Volunteers to win the College World Series. This would be a first in Vols history.
