Taylen Kinney, the No. 17 recruit in the Class of 2026, will enter his senior year at Overtime Elite. The 6-foot-2 point guard, who plays for RWE, was also a part of the NBPA Top 100 Camp at Rock Hill Sports and Events Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Furthermore, the Newport, Kentucky, native was also included in the 2025 NBPA Top 100 first team. The news was published by the Instagram page of "Overtime Elite" along with some highlights of the guard on Saturday.
"Saw this comin a mile away 🫡 Congrats TK 🎉 @taylen_kinney13 @top100camp @thenbpa," the post was captioned.
Taylen Kinney averaged 22.0 points while shooting 52.4%, including 47.6% from behind the 3-point line, during the camp for Team Singleton. He also grabbed five rebounds and dished out 6.3 assists in 27 minutes per game, scoring 15-plus points in all his games for coach Isaiah Thomas' team.
His best performance came in the 118-100 win against Team Drummond on Wednesday. He recorded 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists, stole the ball once and shot 10-for-18 and 5-for-9 from behind the 3-point line.
On3's Jamie Shaw commended Kinney's handles and shot-making abilities in his scouting report for the point guard.
"The 6-foot-1 guard has a slippery handle," Shaw wrote. "He was able to consistently get into the paint and collapse a Dede se. He showed an array of counter dribbles and step back footwork to find open space to get clean looks. And the shooting was consistent. Throughout the week, Kinney knocked down shots off the catch and off movement."
Shaw also talked about what Taylen Kinney needs to do next:
"He was both efficient and confident. He will need to continue getting stronger, which should help him become more of a presence on defense, and take better care of possessions, but his talent was undeniable in flashes at the NBPA Top 100 Camp."
