The TCU Horned Frogs (7-0) pulled off an inspiring 14-point comeback in their 76-68 win over the No. 3-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-1) on Saturday at home. Fifth-year star Hailey Van Lith led the scoring with 21 points, seven assists and three rebounds.
Near the end of the third quarter, TCU trailed by 14 points, with Notre Dame ahead 53-39. But as the game wound down, the Horned Frogs made a comeback. With just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Van Lith scored to tie the game at 61-61. As her team pulled ahead, 69-63 with two minutes left, the guard's father, Corey, was celebrating animatedly at the team's rally.

Corey's animated cheers began after Hailey scored an acrobatic layup past Notre Dame's Kate Koval. Along with him, Hailey's mother, Jessica, and brother, Tanner, rejoiced in the play.
Corey continued jumping with excitement as TCU held on to a 71-63 lead in the final minute. The former collegiate baseball player was hyping up his fellow spectators while pointing at the Horned Frogs' bench.
There was much to celebrate during TCU's second-half rally as Hailey Van Lith notched 19 of her 21 points in the second half to a 31-12 final period for the Horned Frogs. Meanwhile, Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo scored a team-high 27 points.
This victory gives No. 17-ranked Horned Frogs their seventh consecutive win of the 2024-2025 season and sets them up for a Cayman Islands Classic Tournament finale against the South Florida Bulls on Sunday.
TCU Horned Frogs came through in the clutch
Friday's win was the Horned Frogs' highest-ranked victory in team history, and it was a hard-fought one. Notre Dame led for most of the game, even building a 10-point lead, 21-11, by the end of the first quarter.
The team only tied the game in the fourth quarter at 61-all after gradually chipping away the Fighting Irish's edge. Their first lead came from an Agnes Emma-Nnopu 3-pointer, assisted by Van Lith, making it 64-61. From there, the Horned Frogs did not look back.
Besides Van Lith, Sedona Prince and Madison Cooper also stood out, scoring 20 and 18 points, respectively.
