The Team JuJu vs. Team Flau'jae Overtime Select Takeover on Friday was interesting for many reasons. It wasn't just seeing top prospects play in "Next Up 5s" coached by rising stars JuJu Watkins and Flau'jae Johnson, but also all the new rules and off-court heated exchanges between coaches.

On Tuesday, Strictly BBall on Instagram shared a glimpse into the game. Instead of getting two free throws after being fouled, the players got to 1v1 the person who fouled them.

Kate Harpring, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2026, finished with a total of 30 points in the game.

"Should other leagues try this out? 🔥 @overtimeselect @kate_harpring26," read the post's caption.

Hoops fans, too, found the rule fascinating. They wondered about such a rule being implemented in the NBA. NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's foul-baiting didn't go unmentioned.

"Imagine if Sga did this," a fan said.

Some fans thought it was a good idea.

"This is awesome! Free throws are boring and outdated," a fan commented.

Others found some loopholes.

"Idk I like the traditional free throw. It’s also a quick rest moments can have during playing the game. Exerting extra force in a one on one in a crowd? This sounds like too much," a user said.
"What if they foul again," another user said.
"It’s gonna be fouls all game," a fan commented.

JuJu Watkins' "Team JuJu" defeated Flau'jae Johnson's "Team Flau'jae" 80-64 at the event.

Flau'jae Johnson has another rival beyond JuJu Watkins on the basketball court

Beyond her basketball rivalry with JuJu Watkins, Flau’jae Johnson has a personal conflict with Angel Reese.

“We’re not friends … but that bond we had, you can never take that away,” she said.

Though they led LSU to its first national title together, Johnson acknowledged that “sometimes, stuff happens.”

However, she still supports Reese, praising her WNBA performance and defending her online.

"I support her in everything she do, she’s killing it in the WNBA. I’ll be on social media clowning the folks trying to talk down on her. I’m just proud of her. But you know, stuff happens.”

Johnson will return to LSU for the 2025–26 season, while Reese continues her career with the Chicago Sky.
