Audi Crooks sent Iowa State fans into a frenzy on Sunday, scoring the game-winner as time expired to lead the Cyclones to a dramatic 80-78 victory over the Drake Bulldogs.
Crooks muscled her way into the paint before hitting the go-ahead basket off the glass with 0.3 seconds left to preserve No. 8 Iowa State's unbeaten home record this season.
One college hoops fan took to X(formerly Twitter) to react to Crooks' heroics, suggesting that the Iowa State star should be named after a more robust vehicle brand:
"That ain't no Audi, that's a Hummer."
Here are other fan reactions to her game-winner.
"Look how easy Audi seals you," one said.
"Let’s go big fella ahhhhhhhh they too lil down there," another said.
"She’s a problem," another commented.
"BBQ Chicken all day from that spot," another said.
"I have a new favorite basketball player and her name is Audi Crooks," another added.
Audi Crooks punishes Drake with new season-high
Audi Crooks wreaked havoc against the Drake defense, scoring a season-high 33 points on 15-for-25 shooting from the field. She also had four rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes of action.
Crooks helped Iowa State establish a narrow 45-44 lead at the break, scoring 18 in the first half.
She continued to punish Drake's frontcourt in the second half, scoring 15 points including the buzzer-beater that put the Bulldogs away for good.
Iowa State needed every bit of offense from Crooks as Drake's Katie Dinnebier also played the game of her life.
She led all scorers with 39 points, shooting 13-for-16, and made all but two of her 10 3-point attempts. She also had five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 39 minutes of action.
Dinnebier tied the game at 78-78 with a layup with 9.1 seconds left but her heroics went for naught as Crooks sealed the win for Iowa State with her late basket.
