Aden Holloway announced his decision to transfer from Auburn to Alabama via his Instagram post on Saturday. The transfer took place despite the deeply rooted rivalry between the two, which started in the NFL at first but later extended to basketball.

In his Instagram post, Holloway was seen posing with Alabama's West Regional Championship trophy, which they secured after beating Clemson in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament 2024 with a scoreline of 89-82. Along with a few pictures, he posted an exciting video from his new program.

After committing to Alabama, Aden Holloway had to face a lot of criticism from Auburn supporters. Averaging 7.3 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 rebounds per game in his freshman season with the Tigers, Aden was a rising star at Auburn and was part of their future project.

Alabama's head coach, Nate Oats, was left with no option but to sign a promising guard after the draft declaration of Mark Sears, their key guard, and the transfer portal decision of Rylen Griffen, another guard.

Aden started his basketball career at Covenant Day School, where he averaged 21.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. After his sophomore year, he transferred to La Lumiere School in La Porte, followed by another transfer to Prolific Prep in California., where he averaged 18.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Aden was also a part of the 2023 McDonald's All-American Boys game, where he scored 15 points. He was signed as a four-star recruit from Prolific Prep by Auburn but was later rated again as a five-star recruit by ESPN. He chose to join Auburn over Tennessee, Miami, and Wake Forest.

After a silent season at Auburn, Aden Holloway's decision to join Alabama surprised everyone. Nate Oats was interested in the player despite a disappointing season at Auburn.

Alabama beat Auburn with a scoreline of 79-75 on January 25 earlier this year. After the game, Oats praised Holloway:

"He's one of the best guards in the country, in my opinion," said Oats.

Having committed to Alabama, Holloway seems happy and rearing to go with his new team.
