Paige Bueckers delivered one of her best performances of the 2024-25 women's college basketball season, tying her season high to lead No. 2 UConn to a 73-60 victory over No. 18 Ole Miss in the final of the Baha Mar Women's Championship on Wednesday at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, Bahamas.
The 6-foot guard scored 11 of her 29 points in the fourth quarter to help the Huskies pull away after their 22-point lead was reduced to four in the third frame.
Paige Bueckers made 11 of her 17 shots, including 2-for-4 from the 3-point line, and made five of six free throws to carry the load for UConn, who remained unbeaten in six games.
The Hopkins, Minnesota native finished with four rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in 38 minutes of action.
She made two field goals in the third quarter, including a last-second jumper that gave UConn a 52-46 lead going into the payoff period. Her buzzer-beater stopped Ole Miss' run that trimmed the Huskies lead to four.
With the Rebels threatening, Paige Bueckers went to work in the fourth, providing a nifty dish to Azzi Fudd, who made a 3-point play to increase the lead to nine, 55-46. She buried a jumper in the succeeding play to put the Huskies up again in double digits, 57-46.
The guard made another triple that hiked the lead to 13 with 5:22 left. Bueckers scored six of UConn's last nine points, including the final layup of the game.

In the battle between two top-25 teams, the Huskies stormed to a 19-8 start and built a 37-15 advantage in the final minutes of the second period. However, the Rebels picked up steam in the third quarter, scoring 15 unanswered points to cut the deficit to three, 41-38, at the 5:38 mark.
The Huskies could have lost their lead if not for Azzi Fudd’s timely scoring burst, which allowed UConn to retain control heading into the fourth quarter.
Fudd's explosion set the tone for UConn to take over. She had her best game of the season with 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting and four rebounds. Sarah Strong added 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.
UConn shot 58.5% and limited Ole Miss to 32.4% shooting. The Huskies led in rebounding (37-30), assists (15-10) and blocks (5-2). Despite committing 18 turnovers, which led to 17 Ole Miss points, UConn’s dominance in the paint (48-18) proved decisive.
