The 2024 NFL Draft is still ongoing, but the 2025 NFL Draft is coming soon. As the top players came off the board in this year's selection, it just emphasizes the quality of players who will be eligible and entered in the 2025 Draft.
Big-time quarterbacks, playmaking receivers, tough defenders, the next draft will have it all. Here's a VERY early look at ten players to watch for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Top 10 2025 NFL Draft Prospects to watch
#1 Shedeur Sanders, Colorado QB
The six-foot-two Sanders made the jump from FCS Jackson State to Colorado with his father.
In three college seasons, Sanders has thrown for 10,193 yards and 97 touchdowns. Sanders has added another 13 scores on the ground. In his first FBS season, he passed for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns against just three interceptions.
Sanders is an exciting prospect whose strong arm and athleticism project very well at the next level. He promises to be a must-watch prospect and could be one of the top players selected in the 2025 draft.
#2 Travis Hunter, Colorado CB/WR
A two-way star at Jackson State and then Colorado, Hunter is probably a cornerback in the NFL.
In college, he has been sharp on both sides of the ball, making 49 tackles and five interceptions on defense, stacking up 909 yards and nine scores on offense. Hunter could probably improve his stock by focusing on defense, but he will be arguably the most exciting player in college football.
#3 Luther Burden III, Missouri WR
In two seasons at Mizzou, Burden has snagged 131 passes for 1,587 yards and 15 touchdowns.
He's the kind of all-around prospect who will rival Harrison or Nabers from the 2024 class for immediate NFL impact. Burden is only five-foot-11, but he's a playmaker from the word go. He's a likely top-10 pick in 2025.
#4 Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona WR
Everything said about Burden is equally true for McMillan, who is a game changer from day one.
The difference is that McMillan is six-foot-five but also will lack the challenge of the SEC. In two seasons at Arizona, he has 129 grabs for 2,104 yards and 18 touchdowns. McMillan is the top outside receiver in the class as of now. He's also a guy who will be highly coveted in the draft.
#5 James Pearce Jr., Tennessee Edge
Pearce exploded onto the scene for Tennessee in 2023, earning all-SEC honors. He's six-foot-five and growing into an NFL pass rusher's body.
Last year, he posted 14.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and a pick six. Considering his rapid rise of a year ago, Pearce could end up as the top pick in the entire 2025 NFL Draft.
#6 Carson Beck, Georgia QB
Beck was a solid prospect for the 2024 draft, but he elected to return to UGA for another year.
A year ago, he passed for 3,941 yards and 24 scores. He could improve those numbers this season. Beck's intangibles certainly pass the eyeball test and another year of battling the SEC will be excellent NFL preparation.
#7 Jalen Milroe, Alabama QB
A quick thought on the Alabama QB Kalen DeBoer: he took an oft-injured QB from a lesser program, plugged him into his system and watched him emerge as a top 10 draft pick.
What can he do with Milroe? What can't he do? A year ago, Milroe was sixth in Heisman voting, passing for 2,834 yards and 23 scores. This year? The sky is the limit.
#8 Mykel Williams, Georgia DL
The NFL loves Georgia players. Half the Philadelphia Eagles roster seems to have come from UGA.
Williams is the next in a continuing series of massive Georgia defenders. At six-foot-five, 265 pounds, he's shockingly fast and athletic. He had 4.5 sacks a year ago, but his production will rise as will his NFL stock.
#9 Will Johnson, Michigan CB
At six-foot-two, Johnson is kind of rangy athlete who will be in demand as the NFL's style of play continues to lean toward offense.
With 54 tackles and seven interceptions at Michigan, Johnson has tremendous skills in coverage. He will be one of the first defenders off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft class.
#10 Quinn Ewers, Texas QB
Ewers made tremendous strides in 2023 and could do the same again. Last year, he threw for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns. As Texas moves to the SEC, Ewers will get even more attention. His arm strength and ability to play on the move will make him a standout for the 2025 NFL Draft.
