The Alabama Crimson Tide has made a name for itself in developing highly skilled and talented players from all positions that have gone into the NFL. The tight-end position is no different

Here are the tight ends who will be on an NFL roster in 2024 who played college football with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama Tight Ends in the 2024 NFL season

#1: Irv Smith Jr.

Irv Smith Jr. was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 after two seasons with the Crimson Tide between 2017 and 2018. Smith Jr. started his professional career in good form, playing most of the Vikings games and recording 676 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in that period.

However, Smith Jr. was ruled out of the 2021 season with an injury and was injured again for the second half of the 2022 season. In 2023, he was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals and was again injured after a few decent performances. Smith Jr. will start the 2024 season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

#2: Miller Forristall

Miller Forristall played five seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide, and during those five seasons, he was part of two national championship-winning teams under head coach Nick Saban.

Forristall signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans prior to the 2021 season but was released shortly before the start of the season.

A few weeks later, he was signed by the Cleveland Browns, made it onto the active squad, and was the target of one incomplete pass. Interestingly, Foristall has had more success on defense than offensively, with one tackle for the Browns.

Now, with the Los Angeles Rams on a reserve contract, it seems unlikely that Forristall will see the field again.

#3: Cameron Latu

Cameron Latu played defense during high school and would begin his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide on defense as a linebacker before making the move to the tight end position.

After spending two seasons mostly on special teams, Latu became Alabama's starting tight end for the 2021 season, where he had success.

Latu was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2023 NFL Draft and was set to work with established tight end George Kittle on a strong 49ers offense. However, Latu suffered a season-ending injury during the third pre-season game, meaning that coming into 2024, he has not started an NFL game yet, but if he is healthy, he will start one in the upcoming season.

Do you think that Cameron Latu will be able to play this season?
