Auburn Tigers defensive back Antonio Kite officially entered the transfer portal. The Tigers cornerback was a depth player for Auburn this past season.

Kite recorded six tackles and one interception for the Tigers last season. However, Kite entering the transfer portal was always going to happen after he was dismissed from the team in October for violating team rules.

Kite skipped practice after a demotion which led to him being kicked off the team.

"Sophomore cornerback Antonio Kite, who transferred from Alabama in December, has been kicked off the team for missing practice on multiple occasions," Rivals reported.

Antonio Kite landing spots in the transfer portal

#1, Michigan Wolverines

The Michigan Wolverines are coming off a very disappointing season in 2024.

Michigan already landed its future quarterback in Bryce Underwood but will need to put an emphasis on defense. The Wolverines' top defensive back is Will Johnson who could be going to the NFL.

The Wolverines will likely need to add at least two cornerbacks in the transfer portal and Kite can compete for a starting job.

#2, USC Trojans

The USC Trojans have struggled mightily on defense, and adding impact defenders in the transfer portal is a must.

USC will see Akili Arnold, Jaylin Smith, Greedy Vance Jr., John Humphrey and Bryson Shaw all leave. With that, the Trojans will be after several cornerbacks, and Kite will have the opportunity to be a starter.

#3, Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will also be in need of a cornerback and Kite fits the bill.

Notre Dame does have six high school DBs coming into the program in 2025, but the team will see Xavier Watts, Jordan Clark and Benjamin Morrison all leave.

The Fighting Irish are always a playoff contender, so relying on freshmen is tough, especially at a position as important as defensive back.

#4, Tennessee

The Tennessee Volunteers are in the college football playoff but could explore the transfer portal to add to their defensive back room.

The Vols will be without starting safety Will Brooks and cornerback Jordan Matthews. Cornerback isn't a huge need for the Vols, but if Kite wants to stay in the SEC, Tennessee could be a logical spot.

#5, Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Badgers weren't bowl-eligible this season, and the Badgers could be active in the transfer portal.

Wisconsin will see Ricardo Hallman enter the NFL draft while the future of Max Lofy is also up in the air. The only cornerback with playing time for the Badgers is Xavier Lucas who played 203 snaps.

Kite could come in and be a starting cornerback for the Badgers.
