Army vs Notre Dame: Preview

Army is a 14-point underdog while the over/under is set at 45.5 points.
The Black Knights are undefeated and if they can beat Notre Dame, it could lead Army to getting into the college football playoff. Army coach Jeff Monken is also looking forward to the matchup against Notre Dame.
“It’s going to take a tremendous effort on the part of our guys,” Monken said, via SI. “And our players know it. We don’t need to spend a bunch of time ‘demystifying’ stuff. It’s Notre Dame. It’s Notre Dame.”
The Black Knights are led by Bryson Daily has thrown for 644 yards, 7 touchdowns and one interception while he's rushed for 1,062 yards and 21 touchdowns. Casey Reynolds, meanwhile, leads the team with 317 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.
Defensively, Army is led by Casey Larkin and Jaydan Mayes with three interceptions each. While Elo Modozie has 4.5 sacks and Andon Thomas has 55 tackles.
Notre Dame, meanwhile, needs to win out to get a playoff spot. Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman said during his media availability on Thursday:
“They are, as Coach (Jim) Tressel used to say, ‘Three yards and a cloud of dust.’ That’s what they want," Freeman said. "They are a vertical, physical power running team. They’re good with getting three yards, four yards, three yards, four yards. And if you don’t get them behind the chains, they’re going to continue to do it for 11, 12, 15, play drives.
“It’s so important to get some negative yardage plays, one-yard gains. We cannot allow them to stay in rhythm as they go down the field. So it’s so important. We know it’s important, but now we have to find ways to do that on Saturday.”
The Fighting Irish are led by Riley Leonard who has thrown for 1,789 yards, 12 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. On his side, Jeremiyah Love has rushed for 720 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Defensively, Notre Dame is led by Xavier Watts with four interceptions, Rylie Mills with six sacks and Jack Kiser with 52 tackles.
Army looks like a legit football team, but Notre Dame's defense will be well prepared for the triple option as the Fighting Irish will limit Army's offense to get a big win.
Prediction: Notre Dame 27, Army 10
