Mike Norvell's Florida State's season has been underwhelming from the start. Week 11 brought another defeat, this time to No. 10 Notre Dame, by a huge 52-3 margin. This brings the Seminoles to a disparaging overall record of 1-9 (4-0 ACC), a far cry from their preseason expectations.

Fans have started to doubt Mike Norvell's ability to lead the school long-term. In 2023, the Seminoles ended the season undefeated and were one decision away from the college football playoff.

The 2024 season is headed in such a bad direction that coach Norvell has potentially eaten away at any trust the fans still had in him.

One fan straight out compared his feelings to the Noles with those of being trapped in a crappy marriage:

"Being a Florida State fan feels like a bad marriage. I used to love them; now I hate them. Everything they do just pisses me off. I'm done. Fire Mike Norvell. #FSU #FireNorvell"

At this point, any game looks like a difficult one for Florida State:

"Any plans on making changes before our tough game against Charleston Southern?"

One for the history books but in the wrong way?:

"Outsider looking in. I've been a football fan for about 40 years. I've never seen any collapse like this before in my life. This has got to be the worst power 4 team in the nation. I just don't know how you don't fire everyone at FSU."

There were also several calls for the firing of Mike Norvell.

Notre Dame vs. Florida State: The Numbers

The Seminoles never had a chance against the Fighting Irish. The South Bend school shut them out of the game from the second quarter until the end. Their quarterback, Brock Glenn, could barely record passing yards with only 51.

He also gave up two interceptions and was replaced by Luke Kromenhoek who threw for 37 and ran for -20. Notre Dame's defense got eight sacks out of the pair.

Florida State's most positive number of the game was the 120 yards they put in for the running game. Their defense couldn't stop Notre Dame, giving up 453 yards (252 passing and 201 running).
