The CMU Chippewas are having a less-than-ideal 2024 college football season. The program has a 3-6 record entering Week 12. Their next game is against the 6-3 Toledo Rockets at the Glass Bowl in Toledo.
Let's take a look at the Chippewas' starting quarterback and QB depth chart for Tuesday's game.
CMU's starting QB against the Toledo Rockets in Week 12
Jadyn Glasser will likely start for the Chippewas against the Rockets on Tuesday night. The freshman quarterback made his debut in Week 11 against the Bowling Green Falcons and held his own.
Thus, Glasser will likely continue as the team's starter in an away matchup against Toledo. He'll once again be tasked with steadying the ship as they look for three straight wins to end the season and secure Bowl Game eligibility.
Glasser is in his first season of college football after enjoying an impressive high school run with Venice Senior High School in Florida. As a senior, he was named the Florida Class 4S Suncoast District 14 Player of the Year, which capped off a high school career that saw him rated as a consensus three-star prospect.
He chose CMU over offers from Air Force, Bethune-Cookman, Bucknell, Miami, Florida and more.
CMU Chippewas' QB depth chart
The CMU Chippewas have dealt with injuries to their returning quarterbacks this season. The program has been made to endure layoffs for Joe Lebas and Bert Emanuel Jr.
Lebas was the team's starting quarterback for the first six games of the season. He helped the Chippewas to a 3-2 record before he suffered a season-ending arm injury against the Ohio Bobcats. Lebas has since begun rehab and hopes to be fit for the start of the 2025-26 season.
In his absence, Tyler Jefferson, Bert Emanuel Jr. and Glasser have spent time as QB1. However, the Chippewas haven't won a game since he went down against Ohio. The quarterback carousel will have their work cut out in the last three weeks of the season, as they must go unbeaten to secure bowl-game eligibility. It all begins with a Week 12 trip to Toledo to face off against the Rockets.
