USC fans embraced the arrival of coach Rob Ryan, the new assistant coach for defense and linebackers. On Saturday, Connor Morrissette of USC Football shared a clip on X showing Ryan attending an event in Hollywood.
The Trojans hired Ryan, a former NFL defensive coordinator and Super Bowl champion, earlier this offseason. He brings 35 years of coaching experience to USC.
In February, Ryan said:

“I want to win a National Championship, so I chose USC.”
Meanwhile, a post by RomeroWestCoast, referencing Ryan’s presence at the event, added:
“Coach Rob Ryan definitely fits the Hollywood look”
“Looks like Ron Jeramy stunt double,” one fan wrote.
“Dude has swag for DAYSSSS,” another wrote.
“Dude is an all-timer,” one fan wrote.
“Bro looks like if fabio got old and liked eating big macs,” a fan commented.
“Bro looks like a fatter version of Ron Jeremy with gray hair…Hollywood!!!!,” another commented.
Ryan’s appearance aligns with his family's ties to entertainment and football. His father, Buddy Ryan, and brother, Rex Ryan, are both high-profile figures in sports media and coaching.
Rob Ryan entering his first season at USC Trojans
Rob Ryan, entering his first season at USC, brings decades of coaching experience, including 25 years in the NFL. He was the defensive coordinator for the Raiders, Browns, Cowboys and Saints, and won two Super Bowls as linebackers coach with the Patriots.
Meanwhile, USC currently holds the nation’s top 2026 recruiting class. The program offers recruits a Hollywood movie star treatment as part of an aggressive recruiting push. Four-star defensive back Elbert “Rocky” Hill and four-star defensive line commit Tomuhini Topui were among the 15 recruits to receive the experience.
Coach Lincoln Riley said USC was “very behind” in recruiting when he arrived in 2022. That is no longer the case.
