UCLA Stanford Football
Colorado vs UCLA football history

The Colorado Buffaloes (4-3, 1-3 Pac-12) travel to Los Angeles to face the No. 23 UCLA Bruins (5-2, 2-2 Pac-12) in Week 9 of college football. It is a critical matchup for the Buffs, who are currently 4-3 and have bowl aspirations. Out of the three games left to play against ranked opponents for Deion Sanders' team, UCLA, Oregon State and Utah, Week 9 looks most attainable.

The Buffs need a 7-6 season to become bowl-eligible, which means they need to win three out of their remaining five encounters. Colorado entered this pickle after unexpectedly losing its Week 7 encounter against the Stanford Cardinal.

Despite leading 29-0 at halftime, the Buffs blew their lead in a second half in which they only scored one touchdown. Stanford would go on to win the encounter 46-43 in overtime.

Two standouts for Stanford were quarterback Asthon Daniels and wide receiver Elic Ayomanor. Daniels threw for 396 yards with four touchdown passes, while in 13 receptions, Ayomanor recorded 294 yards and had three touchdown receptions.

For his part, Shedeur Sanders had another excellent performance wasted by his team. He threw for 400 yards, with five touchdown passes and one interception. Sanders looked more ready to run to avoid the pressure, recording 37 rushing yards. However, he was sacked five times.

In a twist of destiny, the Bruins defeated the Stanford Cardinal 42-7 in Week 8. Ethan Garbers returned to starting duties for the Bruins in this game, having lost the job after his lackluster performance in Week 1 against Coastal Carolina. He threw for 240 yards with two touchdowns in this game.

Bruins head coach Chip Kelly has refused to name a starter for the Saturday game against Colorado, with both Garbers and Dante Morre being considered.

Let us take a look at the history between these two schools.
