Haynes King has been the talk of the town for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ahead of their Week 8 clash against the No. 12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The quarterback has been nursing an upper-body injury and fans want to know his status for this Saturday's game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Is Haynes King playing today vs. Notre Dame?

Haynes King will not play against Notre Dame in Week 8. The Georgia Tech quarterback, who was listed as 'day-to-day' has been ruled out of Saturday's game due to an upper-body injury.
In King's absence, Zach Pyron will lead the offense for the Yellow Jackets. Pyron, who will get this first start of the season in Week 8, has completed five of eight passes for 64 yards and thrown a touchdown, while also adding 60 rushing yards on 17 carries with four scores.
As per reports, King suffered a shoulder injury early in the fourth quarter of Georgia Tech's 41-34 win against North Carolina in Week 7 last Saturday. He exited the game and did not return, and so, was replaced by Pyron.
Although there is no timeline for King's return, Georgia Tech fans will hope that the signal-caller can make a speedy recovery.
King has racked up 1,568 yards this season with eight touchdown passes to just one interception, completing 136 of 191 pass attempts. He has also added 353 yards on 62 carries and rushed for six scores in seven games, leading the Yellow Jackets to a 5-2 record.
