Defensive end Darius Robinson was the first Mizzou player to be selected and the only one in the first round. He was drafted 27th overall by the Arizona Cardinals and is expected to be an immediate starter on the defensive line. He finished last season with 8.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. However, with 27 quarterback hurries, he could easily slide into the lineup and be a force for the defense.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Detroit Lions
In the second round, the Detroit Lions selected cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. and he should do well in the secondary. Detroit's weakness was in the back four of their defense and Rakestraw could do well at improving that factor. He is dominating in terms of zone coverage as well as stopping the run game so Rakestraw will be a significant factor for a team with high expectations.
Ty'Ron Hopper, Green Bay Packers
Linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper was selected in the third round with the 91st selection by the Green Bay Packers. Hopper's advanced statistics show he had 23 quarterback hurries and 41 stops last season for the Tigers. This Green Bay defense is young and has a lot of solid pieces so Hopper should slide right in and be successful.
Javon Foster, Jacksonville Jaguars
In the fourth round of the NFL draft with the 114th pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected offensive tackle Javon Foster. He does well at blocking, specifically in the passing game while not being a slouch in the run-block. Foster is a player that should help keep quarterback Trevor Lawrence on the field and help the offense get going.
Kris Abrams-Draine, Denver Broncos
Cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine was drafted by the Denver Broncos with the 145th overall pick in the fifth round. He finished the 2023 season with 51 total tackles, 12 pass deflections, four interceptions and a forced fumble. This could be the move to get Patrick Surtain II a massive partner and be one of the best cornerback duos in the sport.
Jaylon Carlies, Indianapolis Colts
The final player from the Missouri Tigers who was drafted was safety Jaylon Carlies by the Indianapolis Colts with the 151st pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He finished last season with 64 total tackles, a pair of sacks, four pass deflections, a pair of interceptions, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. This is a good spot for him to step up and be a factor as a rotational secondary player to help them be competitive in the AFC South.
