The defensive lineman already has a big dream for the program and looks to make a name for himself when he starts to play for them. In his words:“I definitely see a National Championship in our future. We’re going to build a great class and get some great recruits and Coach Lanning is definitely going to lead the way. I was really impressed with how close they are with Nike. It’s a dream school, forever you want to be as close to a big organization like that and all the opportunities there are really endless and hard to pass up on.”He also expressed confidence in the ability of Oregon head coach, Dan Lanning, and his coaching staff. This evidently also played a crucial role in choosing the program.“I just know when you have a coach that’s bought in, Coach Lanning has the largest buyout of any coach in college football, that speaks a lot of the character of the head coach and what the team is going to be. They had a great season last year and produced multiple first-round guys as a defensive coach and that’s what I’m looking for.”Victorious Battle for the Oregon DucksFour-star Xadavien Sims commits to OregonDespite Oregon's relatively late offer in January, they managed to secure the commitment of Xadavien Sims. While Oklahoma initially seemed like the most formidable competition, the involvement of Michigan State turned this recruitment into a fierce battle.Mutual interest played a significant role in the outcome, as the Ducks showcased their commitment by visiting the player in Durant. Additionally, Sims himself took the initiative to make a couple of spring trips to Eugene, further solidifying his interest in the program.Bhalaajee Meenakshi-Sundaram@Bhalaajee@OK_Breakdown Probably losing an in state DL in Xadavien Sims. This lured him into a reconsideration of childhood thoughts about Oklahoma, who are also in contention. He said:“I just felt like home as soon as I got there. I felt like I walked on campus leaning a lot towards Oklahoma and thought Oklahoma was where I'd go to college and I met with the Oregon staff and started touring the campus and as soon as I started taking pictures I knew this is where I wanted to play."Sims will now hope for a bright future with the Ducks when he starts playing college football in 2024. The 6-foot-4, 280 pounds defensive lineman looks definitely primed for success under Tony Tuoti, Oregon's defensive line coach and lead recruiter.
