Illinois vs Oregon: Preview

Illinois is a 21-point underdog on the road, while the over/under is set at 54.5 points.
The Fighting Illini is coming off a statement win over Michigan in a game Illinois completed just nine passes as they used the running game to get the win. Two different Illinois players rushed for 50+ yards while another had 48.
However, the Fighting Illini have its hands full here against the No. 1 ranked team, and Illinois coach Bret Bielema says is cool for the team, but knows it is a tough challenge.
"For me, as a head coach, to ignore that would be silly," Bielema said, via Register Guard. "I think it's an awesome thing. So we have to know that that's the No. 1 team in the country and there's a reason they're No. 1. They're a very good football team, they execute very, very well. But how we play is going to be in our hands and how we plan is in our preparation, that part doesn't change very much."
Illinois is led by Kaden Feagin who has rushed for 306 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Xavier Scott has three interceptions, and Gabe Jacas has three forced fumbles.
Oregon, meanwhile, has a legit defense. Moreover, quarterback Dillon Gabriel is one of the best in the country, and Bielema knows stopping him will be difficult.
"A guy that really gets rid of the ball, he's been at a couple different spots, but he's learned along the way and has made Oregon his home," Bielema told the media on Monday. "When you've got a quarterback in that environment with a team around him, it's always a challenge."
Gabriel has thrown for 2,080 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. Jordan James has rushed for 717 yards and eight touchdowns.
On Oregon's defensive side, Matayo Uiagalelei has 5.5 sacks, and linebacker Bryce Boettcher has 38 tackles.
The Ducks' defense should be able to contain Illinois' offense which has been a surprise this season. However, Oregon is for real and the Ducks' offense will be able to torch up this Fighting Illini's defense for a lopsided win here.
Prediction: Oregon 41, Illinois 10.
