Florida State defensive back Ashlynd Barker suffered a scary injury in the Florida State Seminoles (1-7) 36-14 loss to No. 5 Miami (8-0) on Saturday. In the leadup to Saturday's game against the North Carolina Tar Heels (4-4), there was concern that Barker would not be able to play.
Despite what appeared to be a serious injury for Barker, he is expected to play against North Carolina. He was listed as the primary backup behind redshirt freshman KJ Kirkland on Florida State's updated depth chart on Monday.

Yes, Barker is expected to play against North Carolina. There has been no indication from the coaching staff that the injury sustained against Miami is long-term.

Ashlynd Barker went down with an injury with 8:36 left on the clock in the fourth quarter of Florida State's game against Miami. Miami running back Ajay Allen ran to the right side of the line and collided with Barker who was attempting to make a tackle.
When the two players collided, Barker spun around and fell face-first onto the field. One of Barker's teammates immediately signaled for the medical staff to come onto the field.
On the ESPN broadcast, it showed that trainers were able to turn him over on his back and he was seen moving his legs. After a few moments they helped him to his feet and he walked to the locker room with some assistance from the medical staff. He did not return to the game.
